The fluvial current
inside and the shapes of their walls and cavities grant to the
structure of the
CAVES
of "EL TOLL"
a
great esthetic and plastic beauty.
It has 1.148
m. of depth in total,
the part that you can visit has
158 m. and "L" shape.
Placed in the natural
county of Moianès, it is one of the
caves of
Europe with the richest fauna of the QUATERNARY,
in the
meantime of the glaciation's Würm: hippopotamus, rhinoceros, bear
of the cavern, lion, hyena ...
Few flints from
Mousterian show us the human presence in the Middle
Palaeolithic (between 100.000 and 40.000 years of antiquity) in the
county. |

For the ones that
want to enjoy a full weekend , where it
is mixed prehistory, nature and adventure,
Rivendel has prepared an itinerary, realizable
by mountain bike, 4x4 car or on foot included the guided visit
in the caves and in the other places with historical or naturalistic
interest.
Visit
programme
- Fridayafternoon: Arrival,
lodgement and supper (depending on the option).
- Saturday morning: Start the
route (Moià - Caves), guided visit in the caves, lunch.
- Saturday afternoon: going
on the route, back to Moià.
- Sunday morning: Visit the
Archaeological Museum of Moià and/or other optional
activities.
- Sunday afternoon:
Possibility of doing other optional activities.
There are
other possibilities for visiting the caves:
- Nature route N1.1
and multiadventure programmes A-1 and A-3,
including the visit to the caves of "El Toll" .
- Specific activities for scholar
groups, ask for information forms by
e-mail.
- Getting there by own vehicle till
the nearest car park to the entrance of the cave, and taking part in
the guided groups organized on Sunday morning. Send the form of
reservations to Rivendel to ensure
your place.
